This bogus story is yet another
in a long line of stories perpetuating what I have
termed, "The Big Lie." Journalists are being
used and the usual list of suspects, especially NHTSA, has
GOT to be stopped...and I'm just the huckleberry
who's gonna orchestrate it....with YOUR help. Who does
NHTSA work for? Isn't the head of NHTSA an appointee
of the executive branch? I'll look into all that and
you'll hear from me later...but this nonsense has got
to be stopped....and a few people just might need
to lose their cushy government jobs. Especially
the weasel who flies into your state to lobby against
a helmet law repeal bill proposed by tax paying
citizens with a vested interest in their own sport.
It's high time for that out of town NHTSA visitor and
his under-aged myspace.com one-nite hook-up to
wake up with a horse head in their bed at
the Ramada...and by the way, YOU paid for the room!
What is The Big Lie? Freedom
fighters unite! The "Big Lie" theory
has obviously been dusted off for 2006, and we
can either act to suppress it...or do nothing and allow
it to permeate public perception. A few quotes by
the father of the big lie.......
So...when I get time to create the "Big
Lie" webpage...rest assured...all these
articles which have been mysteriously popping
up of late, WILL be featured. I almost feel sorry
for all the journalists who've been
"owned" this week. For all you older
riders, "owned" is a modern slang term;
"Owned" is most commonly used in England
to signify being outwitted by a person or object.
"Owned" can also be used to signify
self-contradiction, when someone has been injured in
a comical/funny way, or when someone has fallen
victim to a practical joke. For example, someone may
be "owned" if they base their knowledge on
a source, but then are contradicted by the very
source on which they 'based' their knowledge upon.
This article...or a bastardization thereof...is
now appearing in over 120 DIFFERENT newspapers.
It's the last gasp of a dying newspaper
industry...there are gonna be a lot of hack
"journalists" goin' brokeback to pay
their rent, real soon.
How is a helmet "crucial safety gear" if
it's virtually useless above 13 mph? If ONE person
dies with a helmet on...it PROVES it doesn't work.
If the gov't can't 100% assure your safety with a mandate
of intention, the vaqueries of chance are
better left to personal choice.
What killed Dale Earnhardt? And four other NASCAR
drivers in the year before him? Their helmets.
Can anyone show me a helmet manufactured in
America? Why aren't helmets made in America? Can
you spell l-i-t-i-g-a-t-i-o-n?
Why do so many states mandate the wearing of a
"DOT Approved" helmet, when no such
thing exists? Accordingly, you can legally "manufacture
and self certify" a pot from your
kitchen as a helmet meeting FMVSS 218, so long as
you stick a DOT sticker on it. And don't forget
the retention system, a rope.
Why will NHTSA not provide us with a list of
"Approved" helmets? Because if they do,
and your brother's uncle dies, they'll be sued?
If a helmet is the end-all-be-all of safety, why
is it when you compare deaths per accident ratios
in helmet law states, MORE people die WITH helmets
on than died before the law was enacted?
What part of "freedom of choice" do you
not get? Safety is a personal decision...do you
really want the government telling you how to
live, eat, who to have sex with?
Why are insurance companies lobbying against, and
spending big money to stifle an essential
liberty? Is there money to be won/lost in helmet
laws? Could it be that the insurance companies
have noticed, statistically, that when you enact a
lid law in California,
LESS people ride. (A loss of nearly 250,000
registrations in only a few years, and since 1992,
registrations have STILL never caught up to
pre-helmet law figures, this while the industry
has experienced it's 13th year of record growth.)
Suck on this: In California,
you need to have an accident to die. The one true
scientific variable would be "Deaths Per
Accident" to compare pre-lid law with post
lid law figures. Deaths per 100 accidents in 1991,
pre-helmet law were 3.22. Deaths per 100 accidents
in 2003 were 3.84!! Rider compliance with
the lid law in California
is over 99%. Obviously, the helmet law is NOT
working! That's not a made up NHTSA figure concocted
from guessing and comparative analysis...it's hard
data straight from the California Highway
Patrol's very own SWITRS statistics. Want
more? 2002; 3.64. 2001; 3.59. 2000; 3.69. 1999;
3.41. 1998; 3.24. 1997; 3.27. And so on...a couple
years came really close to the 1991 figure, the difference
was negligible and the nearly similar death per
accident rate came about because everybody stopped
riding. And I can prove that with CHP statistics
as well. The CHP won't take the time to analyze or
understand their own stats and regularly issue
false and misleading news stories to perpetuate
the Big Lie....so I consider them to be in
possession of Weapons of MATH Destruction.
Brown shirts, that they are.
Florida has gained over a billion dollars in
revenue since allowing folks the right to
choose...motorcycle sales have skyrocketed. When
people are given the choice, 4 out of 5 dentists
choose freedom. Thomas Jefferson always said
that freedom is an awesome responsibility, and
people need to get the proper training and ride
responsibly, within their limits. Never ride
faster than your guardian angel can fly.
Whatever happened to getting a license, taking the
safety course and learning crash avoidance skills?
Does the helmet do the riding for you?
If a 62 year old woman violates your right of
way....how is that the helmet's fault?
If a journalist mispells a word...does he/she
blame it on the pencil?
Whatever happened to freedom?
I thought these journalists were OK with gay
marriage, unprotected sex and disease, abortion
and Dr. Kevorkian's form of euthanasia, all
as effective means of population control....it
seems to me they'd heartily adopt risky behavior
for it's eco-friendly benefit of leaving us
with less people in the world. What gives? Is this
their way of getting even with the
"cool" kids that always got the hot
chick in school? Is this their power trip rearing
it's ugly head?
And moreover....how is a woman's "Right to
Choose" somehow different when she swings her
leg over a motorcycle?
Consistency is all I ask. Especially when
communist countries DON'T have helmet laws. So, if
these guys are closet socialists, they haven't
read the manual. Socialism only sounds good on
paper as long as you're the guy makin' the
decisions. Funny thing is, these socialist
whack jobs actually have the audacity to think
they'd be in charge of world affairs if there were
ever a revolution, living in the big house on the
hill, when we all know they'd be the first ones
cowering in the basement...huddling beneath the
safety of their human shields, the women and
children...."Uh, we're here for the
story." Yeah, right.

Motorcyclists in Florida may have the freedom to
ride without a helmet, but new statistics show they
might want to think twice before hitting the highway
without protection. The newspaper Florida Today
claims deaths among cyclists without helmets are ten
times wher they were while the helmet law was in
effect.
A Florida Today analysis of federal motorcycle crash
statistics found "unhelmeted" deaths in
Florida rose from 22 deaths in 1998 and 1999, the
years beforeGov. Jeb Bush repealed the state's
mandatory helmet law, to 250 deaths in 2004, the
most recent data available.
By comparison, Florida logged 270 deaths of riders
without helmets during the 1990s, when riding
without a helmet was illegal, according to National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.
Total motorcycle deaths in the state have increased
67 percent from 259 in 2000 to 432 in 2004,
statistics show.
Records also show a corresponding rise in the
popularity of motorcycles in the Sunshine
State. Motorcycle registrations have
increased 87 percent in Florida since Bush signed
the helmet law repeal on July 1, 2000.
The debate over motorcycle helmet safety resurfaced
last week when Pittsburgh
Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, an advocate
of helmet-free riding, broke his jaw, nose and
several teeth in an accident. He underwent seven
hours of surgery.
Merritt Island motorcyclist and helmet law opponent
Dave Carroll said the helmet law debate is
misguided.
"The media spent way too much time harping on
the helmet issue and not enough on the cause of the
accident," Carroll said. "What causes most
of the crashes is cars. Usually, it's the car driver
turning left at an intersection and causing an
accident because they didn't see us coming."
Physicians and insurance companies say helmets are
crucial safety gear.
"We used to call (helmetless riders) 'organ
donors,' because they break their head and not their
body," said Dr. David Harbour, who works in the
emergency room at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge.
"You can actually fix a broken bone. But if you
hit your head and hurt your brain, there's little we
can do to fix that."
