He's been on the ABATE Board of Directors for 8 years. He's been the PAC and Lobbyist treasurer since 1994. President of ABATE Local 1 for 10+ years. American Motorcycle Association (AMA) member for 14 years. He has organized and participated in more charity fundraisers than you can shake a stick at, and was a plaintiff/appellant in the famous Buhl v Hannigan decision of 1993, an attempt to strike down California's motorcycle helmet law. His service and dedication to our sport makes him a legend, and we need to get his bike back, NOW! Motorcycle thieves should be hung from the highest tree in the county...as horse thieves were, not so long ago. The thieves should pray that Law Enforcement gets to them before we do.

BREAKING NEWS California's Helmet Law Modification Bill, AB 425 Becomes a TWO YEAR BILL Splatt explains it.... This is simple. When people don't do their homework...and have no clue as to what's goin' on with their OWN rights, or lack thereof....and don't get involved with politicians EARLY in their careers, they mistakenly think they can merely pay a "lobbyist" to go in and make up for it. Well...it don't work that way. Today's politicians know EXACTLY how they're gonna vote on a bill long before they enter the committee room. The battle is won at home...in the legislator's district, before they ever get to Sacramento. It's won with ABATEPAC donations in their campaigns and Biker's workin' down at campaign headquarters. This is why I push motorcycle awareness month so hard...it's like planting a crop today, so we might get to harvest "freedom" tomorrow. So...after all is said and done...and you enter a transportation committee controlled by Democrats, who don't like "freedom" that much (In CA, that is...in other states like TX, it's the complete reverse)...your bill doesn't stand much of a chance. So, even though you've carefully selected a brilliant Democrat, who really gets our issue and has backed the CHP into a corner with their 2nd grade reasoning (if a motorcycle accident happens, it causes a traffic back-up. TRUE) and inexcusable infringement upon the essential liberties of those who pay for the CHP pension....the Democratic party line is to vote against ANYTHING having to do with freedom. Unless you're a woman seeking an abortion. That's the ONLY freedom they seem to vote for. So, when it looks like your common sense bill - asking for freedom of choice for adults, who KNOW how to ride by taking the CMSP course (started by ABATE) or have 2 years riding experience....is about to die in committee....you have two choices; 1. Let the committee vote...and your bill DIES....because you AIN'T got the votes. or.... 2. Ask for special consideration and table the bill until next year, to work up those extra couple votes. The committee votes to extend your bill...and it stays alive. When you ain't got the votes...and you really like your bill..and ya don't wanna toss in organ donation or insurance considerations....ya ask that your bill become a two year bill. It gives ya the time to work on those key legislators that might be on the fence. Ya meet 'em in their districts...get to know their STAFF, and ESPECIALLY their CHIEF of STAFF....and you work it for the rest of 2007...and head back for next year's committee vote. We'll likely be there...on the capitol steps doin' another Motorcycle Awareness Month Rally combined with a California Freedom Rally....thing is...WHERE IS EVERYBODY ELSE???
